Led by Dr. Tianwei Duan, M-ART Lab is dedicated to the design and discovery of functional materials shaped by structural asymmetry. Our research explores chirality, interfacial dynamics, and responsive behaviors across multiple scales — from molecules and crystals to hybrid semiconductors and optoelectronic devices.
We are driven by a fascination with the power of asymmetry. From chiral molecular design to non-centrosymmetric assemblies and emergent collective phenomena, we investigate how structural asymmetry can unlock new directions in energy applications.
Rooted in chemical synthesis, physical property characterization, and device engineering, M-ART Lab embraces an interdisciplinary approach. We believe that the aesthetics of asymmetry is more than a visual principle — it is a pathway to novel functionality. Our goal is to create materials that not only perform, but adapt, heal, and evolve.
